STATE TIMES NEWSPOONCH: A business orientation tour organised by Army for students of District Poonch was flagged in on their return from Jammu at Palma Garrison. The tour commenced on 24 February and comprised of 28 students (13 boys and 15 girls) and three professors of Government Degree Colleges of Mendhar, Surankote and Poonch. The aim of the tour was to expose the students to the entrepreneurial development in corporate and medicine sector, in collaboration with Yakjah Foundation. The students of Poonch district though talented, lack awareness and exposure of various entrepreneurial avenues in Jammu. Therefore, the students were taken to Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) and Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine-Technical Business Incubator located at Jammu where they interacted with the faculty. During the Entrepreneurship Development Institute visit, the students were made aware about the entrepreneurial avenues available before them and provisioning of loan facilities through Entrepreneurship Development Institute for pursuing their own business. Students were also given chance to interact with DIG, CRPF and various dignitaries of Times Now group and Yakjah Foundation. The tour has been very beneficial to students as it motivated them to excel in their studies and they felt confident after being aware of entrepreneurship opportunities available in Jammu. The Parents and College authorities have appreciated the efforts put in by Army and showcasing the various avenues available to the students after competition of their studies.
