JAMMU: House of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed’s brother-in-law, himself an elected MLA from Dooru Assembly segment in Anantnag district, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi, was found robbed early Thursday morning as his care takers arrived here for routine cleaning work.
Since the government accommodation allotted to the PDP MLA from Dooru is located in a highly secured zone in Gandhi Nagar area the news of sensational robbed sent shock waves among many local residents in the area as they could not believe their ears when the news spread like wild fire.
The entire state machinery was also left embarrassed as the house belonged to a VVIP close to the powers at the helm.
According to official sources the government accommodation was robbed of house furniture and other fixtures including LED, refrigerator and house hold utensils and even floor mats .
Though the state estates department had deputed round the clock chokwidaar (guard) in the area he had not reported any robbery in the area in the recent weeks.
The FIR was lodged by the care takers of the government accommodation on behalf of MLA Dooru and later the office of estates department was intimated about the robbery.
Local police authorities including SHO Gandhi Nagar visited the government quarter 28-C located close to Model police station, to ascertain more facts in the case.
On the other hand senior officers of the state estates department revealed the day light robbery was not possible without the connivance of insiders. The officers urged the police department to carry out thorough probe in the matter so as to track down the real culprits in the case.
