STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: Wrestler Bhupinder Singh of Amritsar in Punjab lifted the Ist Aghar Jitto Kesari Dangal beating Ishak Ahmed (Lallu) of J&K Police in a close contest at Amphi Stadium, Aghar Jitto in district Reasi.The Dangal was organised by Katra Indian Style Wrestling Association in coordination with Aghar Jitto Dangal Committee and district administration on Navratra Festival adhering to COVID-19 guidelines with limited gathering.In total, 31 bouts decided in this day-long event. Bhupinder presented with Rs 18,000 prize money by the Chief Guest, Commandant CRPF 6th Bn, Jatinder Kumar Gupta. Vice President of the Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided while SDPO Katra, Kuljeet Singh, retired SP Prithvi Raj Sharma, SHO Katra, Sunil Kumar Sharma were Guests of Honour.Prominent among others present were Baba Mohan Lal, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Sohan Singh Thakur (Sonu), Raj Kumar Padha, Babu Ram Sharma, Krishan Singh (ex-Sarpanch), Gopal Krishan, Varinder Sharma, Naresh Kesar, Rattan Chand, Sunil Kohli, Sanjay Kumar, Sahil Sharma, Om Parkash Verma, Sat Paul, Deepak Wazir, Jahar Dubey, Shankar Nirankari and Vipan Sharma.“The organising committee is thankful to social activist, Ram Paul Sharma for extending a financial help of Rs 1,03,100 for the successful conduct of this Dangal. It was Ram Paul, who showed concern for the unemployed and poor wrestlers thereby helping them earn the livelihood through the medium of sports,” said Shiv Kumar Sharma.
