STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University celebrated 16th Foundation Day. This year the theme of foundation day celebrations was,’ Skill India’. Prof. Javed Musarrat, Vice Chancellor of the University was the chief guest on the occasion. While congratulating BGSBU family on 16th foundation day, Prof. Musarrat said that BGSBU inherits a glorious past and has a bright future ahead. Prof. Musarrat termed 15 December as the golden day in the chronicles of BGSBU. On the occasion Prof. Musarrat highlighted the need and importance of skill India program and highlighted various initiatives of the government for promoting entrepreneurship development in the country. Prof. Musarrat said that there is a need for promoting entrepreneurship culture among the young men and women of the country. He said that educational institutions must encourage entrepreneurship as a viable career option. In his address, Prof. Musarrat.Prof. Musarratsaid that various initiatives have been taken up by the BGSBU for developing innovation ecosystem by establishing innovation cell, startup cell, entrepreneurship cell, tinkering lab, institutional innovation council and introduction of specialised entrepreneurship development courses in various failed of study. On the occasion Prof. Musarrat highlighted the achievements of the university in terms of teaching and research, innovations, student diversity, sports facilities and other infrastructure being made available in past five years. He said that BGSBU is on its way to become the center for excellence in teaching and research and will attract the knowledge contributors from allacross the globe. Earlier Prof. Iqbal Parwez, Dean Academic Affairs welcomed the gathering and said that this day reminds us the purpose of our existence, the success story so far and the road ahead. Prof. Iqbal said that under the dynamic leadership of Prof. JavedMusarrat the University has achieved many milestones and has become a brand in the academic circles both in India and abroad. On the occasion best researcher award in the category of sciences was given to Dr. Feroz Ahmed Mir, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics and best researcher award in the category of social-sciences was given to Dr. Dil Pazir, Head, Department of Economics. Earlier, Dr. Susheel Verma and Dr. Kafeel Ahmed made presentations on best practices adopted by the University for community engagement and skill development . on the occasion , The vice chancellor released a book entitled’ ‘Danish Gha’ Written by Mr. Zakir Bhallesi.Those who were present on the occasion included Prof. HinaParwez, Department of Zoology, AMU, Deans of Various Schools , Faculty members and officers of the University , Research Scholars and Students of various department.
