STATE TIMES NEWS SRINAGAR: Anti-Corruption Bureau, North Kashmir on Wednesday caught Block Development Officer (BDO) Sopore red-handed while accepting bribe. According to a report, a written complaint was lodged with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (North Kashmir) by a daily-waged of Block Sopore, who alleged that the Block Development Officer Sopore, Ab Rashid Ahanger has demanded bribe for releasing his pending wages. On his complaint, a case vide FIR no 9/19 under Section 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt; 2006, 4A Amendment Act- 2014 was registered and further investigations were taken up. During the course of investigation, a trap team was constituted under the supervision of DySP Sajjad Ahmad, who laid a successful trap and the aforesaid officer was caught red handed while accepting bribe from the complainant in presence of independent witnesses. The accused was arrested from the spot and further investigations are going on in the matter.
