STATE TIMES NEWSR S PURA: An awareness programme in connection with the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) was organized by ICDS Project R S Pura in which SDM R S Pura Ram Lal was the Chief Guest and District Programme Officer ICDS Jammu was the Guest of Honour. Besides Tehsildar R S Pura, BDOs R S Pura, Suchetgarh, ZEO, Chairman MC and Chairmen of all the three BDCs of R S Pura Block, Sarpanchs, all the supervisors and AWWs were also present in the programme. Zohra Kousar, CDPO, R S Pura welcomed the guests and enlightened the participants of the event while Dr Madhu Burma, SLM ICDS Project made a detailed presentation on the programme. A lecture was delivered by MO CHC R S Pura on the decline of sex ratio of female child. The programme was made further attractive with performances of Ram Lal and Party from Jammu and Rumalu Ram and party from Ram Nagar besides AWWs who presented poems, skits, songs and dances. Name plates under ‘Ghar Ki Pehchan Beti K Naam’ were distributed to the female children being the only issue of their parents. Passbooks under ‘Ladli Beti’ scheme were also distributed among the beneficiaries of the aforesaid scheme and parents of girl child were facilitated by distributing Baby Kits. Meritorious girl students were also felicitated and best performing AWWs including Parsino Devi, Kanta Devi and Chand Sharma, were also felicitated. Dr. Madhu Burma was given the best performing supervisor’s award. The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour appreciated the programme and congratulated CDPO, SLM ICDS Project and staff for organising such an informative and colourful programme. Balkar Singh Nagra, Sarpanch, Panchayat Halqa Samka also expressed his valuable views and termed it as very effective programme and requested to organize such programmes frequently.
