State Times News KATHUA: Samadhan Foundation in collaboration with Govt. Degree College, Marheen under the guidance of Principal, Prof R.S. Jamwal, organised an awareness programmme on ‘Hazards of Plastic Pollution and Conservation of Water’. The programme was jointly organised by the foundation and college to bring before the students the demerits of the use of plastic in day-to-day life. The students performed a song popularly known as ‘TikTik Plastic’ to bring out the urgency of stopping plastic pollution. Students delivered speeches on how plastic entered, retained and now destroying human life and ecosystems around us. A quiz was also organized with questions giving information and providing awareness about the disastrous condition created by plastic around the world. The chief guest, Pawan Sharma , member MHRD spoke about the ancient Indian philosophy of Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinaha and how it can be useful in present scenario. He focused on how youth can bring a social change with their energy and innovative ideas. A vote of thanks was presented by Prof Deepak to the chief guest who stressed upon the need of such programmes for development of students. Those who were present in the occasion are Prof. Deepak Gupta, Prof Sonika Gupta, Prof Gourav, Prof Preeti, Prof Suman, Prof Buvneshwari, Prof Sonia, Senior Assistant Suresh Kumar and Balbir Singh.
