JAMMU: A Jammu based NGO working for the animals’ welfare in the State on Tuesday evening rescued a stray dog, with his head trapped in a plastic bag at Hari Palace Complex.
Without food and water the survival of dog would have been in jeopardy, if the NGO team had not worked continuously to trace and rescue the dog.
Yesterday, when Rumpy Madan, Chairperson, Save Animal Value Environment (SAVE) received the report on her watsapp with the picture of the trapped dog, a hunt was immediately launched in the Hari Palace Complex to rescue dog.
This afternoon, the SAVE team located the stray dog and using scientific techniques caught hold the dog and cut the plastic box wrapped around face and neck. The stray dog was without food for the past three days, said a security guard, adding, “No one from the complex had brought the matter to the notice of any NGO or JMC.”
Rumpy Madan, Chairperson of the NGO said, “We are always ready to extend our support for the cause of stray dogs, cattle and other animals.”
Full-fledged department in the JMC for control of stray dogs is unable to extend any help because of various reasons like staff shortage, lack of experts and unavailability of equipments and vehicles.
