STATE TIMES NEWSUDHAMPUR: A mini-truck driver and 55 people travelling in it were detained in Udhampur district on Sunday for violating the weekend lockdown aimed at preventing the spread of Coronavirus infection, said police.As per the details, a team of Police Station Chenani led by Insp. Pushpinder Singh SHO under the supervision of Ahmed Shaafi SDPO Chenani while performing daily Naka duty at Motorshed Chenani, stopped one truck (JK03H 4315) being driven by Javeed Ahmed, son of Jalal u din, resident of Lalpora, Tral District Pulwama for checking.During search of aforesaid vehicle, 55 passengers ( 29 males and 12 females and 14 children) who were found travelling by concealing themselves inside the vehicle. All the 55 persons along with driver of the vehicle were taken into custody, who were found violating Standard Operation Procedure (SOPs), guidelines issued by Govt. including social distancing norms, non wearing masks etc. The travellers are being tested for COVID and further course of action shall follow.In this connection, a case FIR No. 92/2020 under sections 188/269 IPC was registered at Police Station Chenani and further investigation is underway.
