5 gamblers arrested, Rs 24,980 stake money recovered

SAMBA: Police on Tuesday arrested five gamblers at Ghagwal and recovered stake money amounting to Rs 24,980 from their possession.
As per details, acting on a specific information about gambling, a party from Police Station Ghagwal raided a gambling spot at Jarain (Rajpura) and arrested five gamblers along with stake money amounting to Rs 24,980 along with a set of playing cards. The arrested gamblers have been identified as Uttam Chand, son of Gain Chand, resident of Chack Lala, Rajpura; Karam Chand, son of Anant Ram, resident of Malani, Rajpura; Ashok Singh, son of Suraj Singh, resident of Lala Chak, Rajpura; Romesh Kumar, son of Shiv Ram, resident of Bhagata Chak, Rajpura and Jugal Kishore, son of Puran Chand, resident of Sujana, Rajpura. Taking cognizance into the matter, all the gamblers were booked under section 13 of Gambling Act at Police Station Ghagwal.
