STATE TIMES NEWSKAKRYAL: The 38th meeting of Governing Body of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi College of Nursing (SMVDCoN), Kakryal, was held on Friday to review the arrangements being put in place for selection of students for the 5th batch of the college, process for which would commence from 26th April 2020. The meeting was informed that online portal for filling up application forms for admission for 5th batch of 4 year B.Sc. Nursing course at SMVDCoN will commence from April 26 and last date for submission of online application forms will be June 4, 2020. However, the option to submit offline forms at SMVDCoN, Kakryal and Kalika Dham, Jammu will also be kept available for applicants, which will be later uploaded on portal to generate Admit Cards. The Entrance Examination will be conducted on June 7 at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University and classes for the 5th Batch (2020-21) will start from first week of July 2020. The Governing Body meeting, chaired by Maj Gen S K Sharma (Retd), Member Shrine Board, was attended by Ramesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board; Dr V Verma, Dean, SMVDU; Dr Sunil Sharma, Deputy CEO of Shrine Board and Administrator of SMVDCoN; Dr J P Singh, Senior Consultant, Neuro Surgery, SMVDNSH; and Dr Shailla Cannie, Principal SMVDCoN. The meeting also discussed brass tacks for organising a 2-day national level conference on nursing by SMVDCoN in September 2020, in which a number of leading nursing colleges and other eminent institutions from across the country are likely to participate. The meeting also called for exploring opportunities of job placements for passing-out students of Nursing College for their better career prospects.
