STATE TIMES NEWSSrinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 330 COVID-19 cases, pushing the infection count past the 9000-mark in the Union Territory on Wednesday, while the death toll reached 149 with six new fatalities in the last 24 hours, officials said.

According to the order issued by Registrar General of the high court, the court premises will remain closed on Wednesday and Thursday for carrying out the sanitisation exercise. Only workers engaged in carrying out sanitisation process will be allowed entry into the court premises. The urgent cases listed for July 8 and 9 will be listed on July 10 while dates in other matters will be posted on court’s website on July 11.
“Six people, who were COVID-19 positive, have died over the past 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir,” the officials said, adding that all of these deaths were reported in the Valley. Of the total coronavirus-linked fatalities in the UT, 14 belonged to Jammu province and 135 were from the Kashmir division.
Meanwhile two more employees of Pespi factory were found positive taking tally to 36.
The fresh COVID-19 cases brought the infection tally to 9,261 in Jammu and Kashmir.
While 59 of the new cases were from Jammu region, 271 were from the valley.
Srinagar district in central Kashmir recorded a maximum of 119 fresh cases, followed by 82 in Baramulla district in the north, the officials said.
There are 3,545 active COVID-19 cases in the UT, while 5,567 patients have so far recovered from the infection.
The cases detected on Wednesday include 30 people who had returned to the UT from other parts of the country.
Kashmir has 7,319 novel coronavirus cases while the Jammu region has 1942, the officials said.
According to daily Media Bulletin, out of 4,21,571 test results available, 4,12,310 samples have been tested as negative till July 8, 2020.
Additionally, till date 3,04,585 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which included 39,156 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 45 in Hospital Quarantine, 3,545 in hospital isolation and 46,106 under home surveillance. Besides, 2,15,584 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Bandipora has 323 positive cases (including seven cases reported today) with 38 Active Positive, 282 recovered and three deaths; Srinagar has 1396 positive cases (including 119 cases reported today) with 895 Active Positive, 465 recovered, 36 deaths; Anantnag district has 755 positive cases (including 26 cases reported today), with 160 Active Positive, 583 recovered (including 19 cases recovered today), 12 deaths; Baramulla has 1176 positive cases (including 82 cases reported today) with 645 Active Positive, 501 recovered (including 51 cases recovered today), 30 deaths; Shopian has 866 positive cases (including four cases reported today) with 223 Active Positive, 629 recovered and 14 deaths; Kupwara has 643 positive cases (including 18 cases reported today) with 183 Active Positive, 453 recovered (including 18 cases recovered today) and seven deaths; Budgam has 504 positive cases (including five cases reported today) with 201 Active Positive and 292 recovered cases (including eight cases recovered today) and 11 deaths; Ganderbal has 138 positive cases (including four cases reported today) with 59 active positive cases and 78 recoveries and one death; Kulgam has 928 positive cases (including four cases reported today), with 265 Active Positive and 646 recoveries (including 32 cases recovered today) and 17 deaths and Pulwama reported 590 positive cases (including two cases reported today) with 313 active positive cases and 273 recovered (including two cases recovered today) and four deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 417 positive cases (including two cases reported today) with 96 active positive cases and 313 recoveries (including three cases recovered today) and eight deaths; Udhampur has 298 positive cases (including five cases reported today) with 85 active positive cases, 212 recovered (including five cases recovered today) and one death; Samba has 208 positive cases (including seven cases reported today) with 80 Active Positive and 128 recoveries (including five cases recovered today); Rajouri has 171 positive cases (including 23 cases reported today) with 99 active positive cases and 71 recovered and one death; Kathua has 261 positive cases (including one case reported today) with 60 Active positive and 200 recovered (including five recoveries today) and one death; Kishtwar has 40 positive cases (including one case reported today) with 15 active positive cases and 25 recovered (including two cases recovered today); Ramban has 243 positive cases (including two cases reported today) with 39 active positive and 204 recoveries (including 17 cases recovered today); Reasi has 52 positive cases (including four cases reported today) with 17 active positive and 35 recovered; Poonch has 132 positive cases with 16 active positive and 115 recoveries and one death while Doda has 120 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today) with 56 active positive cases and 62 recoveries (including one case recovered today) and two deaths.
