STATE TIMES NEWSSRINAGAR: Acting on specific information about illegal trade of subsidized kerosene oil, a Police team from Police Station Beerwah intercepted an Alto-800 bearing registration no. JKO1J-7518 near Sonapah, Beerwah with a person onboard. He was identified as Ghulam Mohammad Wani, resident of Panchagund Beerwah.During checking, 8 cans of Kerosene oil (around 300 litres) were recovered from the vehicle. The accused was arrested on the spot and shifted to Police Station where he remained under custody.A case vide FIR No. 234/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Beerwah and investigation has been initiated.Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused was involved in illegal trade of subsidised Kerosene oil. Source of procurement of subsidised Kerosene oil is also being investigated for booking all persons involved in facilitating black marketing.
