Rajouri: In another operation launched near Line of Control, Jammu and Kashmir police seized 3.2 kilograms of Heroine like substance in Basooni village of Balakote in Mendhar sub division.
Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch Ramesh Angral said that on a specific information about the dealing of narcotics between unknown persons in Basooni in the intervening night of 21st and 22nd of October, a team of police headed by Sub Divisional Police Officer Mendhar Zaheer Abbas Jafri alongwith SHO Mendhar Manzoor Kohli launched searches in the area.
” During search police recovered narcotics (Heroin like substance) in three packets weighing 3.2 KGs.” SSP said.
He added that a case in FIR No 247/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at police Station Mendhar and investigation is going on to trace its linkages
Official sources meanwhile informed that case is being seen to be linked with cross Line of Control smuggling of narcotics.
” Earlier also, police seized similar consignments of Heroine like substance in the area and this recovery is also being seen as linked with cross LoC smuggling of narcotics which could be linked with narco-terrorism.” said sources.
