STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU/UDHAMPUR: Police on Monday foiled two bovine smuggling bids by arresting 3 smugglers. 29 bovines were also rescued by Police. As per details, during Naka checking by a police team led by Incharge Police Post Tikri SI Jaswinder Singh under direct supervision of Insp Virender Gupta (SHO Police Station Rehambal) at Manthal, a truck (JKO2AF 4925) was intercepted. During checking, 14 bovines were found loaded in it. A person identified as Harpal Singh, son of Lt Avtar Singh, resident of Iddgah Road, Kalpana Market, PS Qutam Sher Tehsil Saharanpur District Saharanpur (UP) was arrested on the spot and all bovines were rescued. A case vide FIR No 143/2020 under Sections 188 of IPC and 11 PCA Act was registered against him at Police Station Rehambal. The Naka was laid under supervision of ASP Rajinder Katoch and overall supervision of SSP Udhampur Sargun Shukla. Meanwhile, during Naka checking at Belicharana Tawi Bridge, a truck (JKO2AT 5411) was intercepted and found laden with 15 bovines. Driver of the vehicle namely Harminder Singh, son of Ujagar Singh, resident of Indira Nagar Tehsil R S Pura District Jammu and Helper Mohd Sharif, son of Mohd Mirza, resident of Batehra, Tehsil Akhnoor were arrested on the spot and a case under Section 188 IPC and 3 of PCA Act was registered against them.
