SAMBA: Police on Monday foiled attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 14 bovines and after arresting two bovine smugglers at Naka NH Tapyal in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal.As per the details, a party of Police Station Ghagwal, while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka NH, Tapyal intercepted a truck (JK02AE-4925) which was coming from Kathua side and moving towards Valley.During checking of the said vehicle, 14 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission.The said bovines were hidden in a professional manner to avoid being noticed during checking by the Police.The accused driver identified as Satwant Singh, son of Darshan Singh, resident of RS-Pura, Jammu along with associate Kuldeep Singh, son of Krishan Singh, resident of Bishnah, Jammu have been arrested on spot. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on spot.In this connection, a case FIR No. 123/2020 under section 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
