STATE TIMES NEWSSrinagar: Jammu and Kashmir registered 1,036 new coronavirus cases and 23 deaths, taking the total number of infections to 65,026 and toll to 1,024 on Monday, officials said.It was for the 19th consecutive day that the cases in a 24-hour period have crossed 1,000.There are 21,887 active cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), while 42,115 patients have recovered so far, according to the officials.Out of the 1,036 more cases, 563 were in the Jammu region and 473 in Kashmir, taking the tally to 65,026. Jammu district reported the highest number of 245 new infections, followed by 141 in Srinagar, the officials said.Fourteen out of the 23 more deaths were in Jammu and nine people succumbed to the disease in the Valley, taking the total fatalities to 1,024, the officials said.According to the daily Media Bulletin, till date 5,48,355 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 27,819 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 21,887 in isolation and 61,819 under home surveillance. Besides, 4,35,806 persons have completed their surveillance period.Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 13,199 positive cases (including 141 cases reported today) with 2,049 Active Positive, 10,882 recovered (including 156 cases recovered today), 268 deaths; Baramulla has 3,923 positive cases (including 79 cases reported today) with 1,158 Active Positive, 2,649 recovered (including 42 cases recovered today), 116 deaths; Pulwama reported 3,588 positive cases (including 54 cases reported today) with 544 active positive cases, 2,981 recovered (including 40 cases recovered today), 63 deaths; Kulgam has 2,188 positive cases (including 5 cases reported today) with 155 Active Positive, 1,990 recoveries (including 18 cases recovered today), 43 deaths; Shopian has 1,936 positive cases (including 6 cases reported today) with 175 Active Positive, 1,731 recovered, 30 deaths; Anantnag district has 3,288 positive cases (including 36 cases reported today) with 858 Active Positive, 2,371 recovered (including 14 cases recovered today), 59 deaths; Budgam has 4,424 positive cases (including 60 cases reported today) with 1,726 Active Positive and 2,620 recovered (including 34 cases recovered today), 78 deaths; Kupwara has 3,221 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today) with 882 Active Positive, 2,278 recovered (including 56 cases recovered today), 61 deaths; Bandipora has 3,177 positive cases (including 22 cases reported today) with 1,033 Active Positive, 2,110 recovered (including 37 cases recovered today), 34 deaths and Ganderbal has 2,616 positive cases (including 56 cases reported today) with 664 active positive cases, 1,926 recoveries (including 41 cases recovered today) and 26 deaths. Similarly, Jammu has 10,422 positive cases (including 245 cases reported today) with 6,118 active positive cases, 4,166 recoveries (including 564 cases recovered today), 138 deaths; Rajouri has 2,152 positive cases (including 66 cases reported today) with 1,212 active positive cases, 914 recovered (including 8 cases recovered today), 26 deaths; Ramban has 1,092 positive cases (including 15 cases reported today) with 367 active positive, 719 recoveries (including 14 cases recovered today), 6 deaths; Kathua has 1,753 positive cases (including 34 cases reported today) with 671 Active positive, 1,067 recovered (including 12 cases recovered today), 15 deaths; Udhampur has 1,827 positive cases (including 30 cases reported today) with 733 active positive cases, 1084 recovered (including 43 cases recovered today), 10 deaths; Samba has 1448 positive cases (including 57 cases reported today) with 772 Active Positive, 664 recoveries, 12 deaths; Doda has 1,745 positive cases (including 59 cases reported today) with 1124 active positive cases, 601 recoveries (including 21 cases recovered today), 20 deaths; Poonch has 1,380 positive cases (including 24 cases reported today) with 857 active positive, 514 recoveries (including 33 cases reported today), 9 deaths; Reasi has 766 positive cases (including 26 cases reported today) with 354 active positive, 407 recoveries and 05 deaths while Kishtwar has 881 positive cases (including 7 cases reported today) with 435 active positive cases and 441 recoveries (including 25 cases reported today) and 5 deaths. According to the bulletin, the Centre is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of COVID-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.
