STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) on Monday organised hands on field visit to Sudhir Gensets Limited in Bari Brahmana. The visit of the plant started with an initial round of briefing about the company by HR Head Shammi Sharma. During the visit, the students were briefed about the functioning of Control panels which are installed along with DG sets by Er. V.P Singh (Incharge Panel Electrical Department). Er. Rakesh Sharma(Qualitive Manager) and Er. Simran Kour (Qualitive Executive) briefed the students about the outer frame of Generators with ranges from (10-2250) KVA which is followed by the Paint shop, stuffing shop and Testing department. Er. Anshuman Seghal (Assistant Professor) Electrical Engineering Department accompanied the students. Er. Loveneesh Talwar, HOD Electrical, emphasised on the need of such visits with an aim to go beyond academics, as industrial visit provides students a practical perspective of the work place. During the visit of Civil Engg. Department Er Vijay Kumar Tickoo Supervisor and Prem Singh interacted with the students and suggested various aspects of civil engineering approaches followed worldwide. He gave detailed presentation on low cost materials available locally to make the projects economically viable and performed test on different types of paver blocks used by construction Industry. Students also visited JDA’s construction site of multistory flats at Muthi where they have an idia of RCC detailing of Column, Footing and Slab.
