JAMMU: The wreath laying ceremony of four Border Security Force (BSF) personnel was held here on Wednesday.
The BSF jawans lost their lives during unprovoked cross border firing by Pakistan on Tuesday night in which four brave Bordermen laid their life while defending the sanctity of the country and made supreme sacrifice in the service to the nation.
The incident took place at International Border in Chamliyal area of Samba District on Tuesday night. Three of the deceased have been identified as Assistant Commandant Jatinder Singh, SI Rajneesh, Assistant Sub-Inspector Ram Niwas and Constable Hans Raj.
On the occasion, former Health Minister, Bali Bhagat; former Minister Industry & Commerce, Chander Prakash; MLA RS Pura Gagan Bhagat, DGP Dr S.P Vaid, IGP Dr S.D Singh, Divisional Commissioner Hemant Kumar Sharma, Additional Director General (WC) BSF, K.N Choubey; IG BSF Jammu Ram Awtar also paid tributes to the martyrs.
ADG BSF further said that the nation will remain indebted to brave bordermen for their supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty and shall be remembered forever whenever the martyrs are remembered.
Choubey reiterated that as a peaceful country we never initiate fire from our side but keep all our options open. Cremation of the martyrs will be done at their respective hometowns, he added.
