JAMMU: Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Jammu Centre in collaboration with Department of Electronics, Department of Computer Science and IT and Ramnagar Campus, University of Jammu organised a workshop on Smart System Design here on Saturday.
More than hundred participants, comprising of students, scholars, and faculty from different academic institutions, dedicatedly worked continuously for giving shape to their technical ideas in the form of developed hybrid smart system using the concepts of software and hardware techniques.
Prof Mubarak Singh, Director, Ramnagar Campus was the Chief Guest of the event. In his address, he appreciated the efforts of IETE Jammu centre and suggested that such workshops shall be held more frequently.
Prof P.V.K.S Baba, Head, Department of Physics, who was the Guest of Honour, emphasised that hands on experience is an essential component of the studies and students should attend such workshops regularly.
Earlier, Prof Rakesh Vaid, Head, Department of Electronics, University of Jammu and Chairman IETE Jammu Centre formally welcomed the guests and participants.
Prof Vaid threw light on the various initiatives taken by the IETE at the national level.
Dr Pawanesh Abrol, Prof, Department of Computer Science and IT and coordinator of this workshop, discussed various techniques of upcoming embedded scripting programming language Lua.
Prof Parveen Lehana, Department of Electronics, University of Jammu elaborated the different hardware designs necessary for developing future smart systems.
Dr. Susheel Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Sunidhi Puri, Palak Mahajan, Pooja Thapar, Priti Rajput, Jyoti Laotra, Zeenat, Pawan, Akansha and Manohar also attended the event. Dr. Radhika Khanna, Treasurer, IETE, Jammu Centre conducted the proceedings.
