JAMMU: A workshop on the theme ‘Say No To Pollution’ was organised by the students of English UG and PG Honours in Government MAM College campus.
Students made a wonderful display of the posters highlighting the menace of pollution in all its forms like air pollution, noise pollution, marine pollution and its rampant effect on the whole universe.
A total of 12 groups of students participated in the competition and gave presentations of the displayed posters on diverse aspects of pollution.
Principal, Prof. Ajeet Angral, who presided over the workshop, exhorted the students to participate in such creative activities which give them a platform to explore and hone their hidden talents.
Prof Jozfeen Afzal, Prof. Vishal Sharma and Prof. Shiveta Gandotra, Heads, Departments of Education, Political Science and Psychology were the jury members. The first, second and third prizes were bagged by Group 12 represented by Prerna, Group 10 represented by Abrar and Group 1 represented by Raghav from the UG and PG English Honors respectively.
The workshop concluded with a pledge taken by the students and faculty to make the environment clean and green and also by vowing to make 2017 a pollution free Diwali by saying No To Crackers. Manya Langar from PG English Honours anchored the workshop. The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Twinkle Suri, Coordinator, UG and PG English Honors.
