STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: A two-day workshop on curriculum reforms organised by the Department of Home Science, University of Jammu under RUSA scheme (Phase-II) concluded here on Tuesday. The workshop was conducted on theme ‘Updating and Restructuring Course Curriculum for Master Degree programme in Human Development’. Prof Rajni Dhingra, Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. While addressing participants, Prof Rajni said that RUSA provides an excellent platform for Universities to initiating research and academic activities in tune with changing times. Prof Shashi Manhas, Head of Department enlightened participants about the objectives and expected outcome of the workshop. Resource persons of the workshop, Prof Sudha Chikara (Retired Professor), Department of Human Development and Family Studies, Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar; Prof Jatinder Gulati, Department of Human Development, COHS, PAU; Dr Vinita Bhargava, Department of Human Development & Childhood Studies, Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi; Prof Arti Sinha, Department of Human Development, Dr Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, PUSA, Bihar and Prof Tejpreet Kour, Department of Human Development, CoHS, Punjab Agricultural University critically analysed the course contents and gave valuable inputs during the workshop. Entire faculty of the Department of Home Science including Prof Rajni Dhingra, Prof Neeru Sharma, Dr Smridhi Arora and Dr Sarika Manhas along with resource persons reviewed course content and gave valuable suggestions for helping students to acquire employment skills. The workshop culminated with formal vote of thanks by Associate Prof Sarika Manhas.
