KATHUA: In order to sensitise the women about the schemes being implemented by Jammu and Kashmir State Women’s Development Corporation (SWDC), a Mega Awareness Camp cum Loan Mela was organised at Govt. Girls High School, Bani, Kathua by National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (NMDFC) Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India.
The camp was inaugurated by MLA, Bani, Jeevan Lal. Managing Director, Women’s Development Corporation, Dr. Naheed Soz in her welcome address highlighted various activities and achievements of Women’s Development Corporation which has immensely contributed towards the empowerment of the women.
She laid thrust on the importance of Miniature Painting and Basholi Shawls and its market availability through the exhibitions conducted by WDC within and outside the State and requested the participants to come forward and avail the benefits of the schemes of WDC for their self reliance. In addition to the schemes, Managing Director also threw light on the issues related to the rights of women, health, nutrition, Female feticide, Beti Bachao Beti Padao domestic violation and Swach Bharat Abiyan and skill development etc.
The camp was attended by SDM, Bani, Chief Medical Officer, Bani Sarpanch, Bani, Head Master, Govt. Girls High School, Bani, Vice Principal, Govt. Girls High School, Bani, Child Development Project Officer, SWD besides other dignitaries who also made these beneficiaries aware about the welfare programmes being implemented by their respective departments.
Besides representatives of the above mentioned departments, students of Govt. Girls High School were especially made aware about the Educational Loan Scheme being implemented by JKWDC. Lastly vote of thanks was presented by Ajaz Hussain Beigh.
