STATE TIMES NEWS NAGROTA: The Nagrota Police on Saturday busted an interstate Narcotics Racket in which a woman among four Kashmir-based narcotics smugglers were arrested with 29 Kg Charas worth over Rs 2 crore during a routine Naka checking at Nadal Manwal late on Friday night. While addressing a press conference, SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma said that during routine checking and frisking of a Santro Car bearing registration No DL4CS-9469 at Police Naka Nadal Manwal by a team headed by SI Vikram Singh accompanied by SHO Jhajjarkotli Inspector Rajesh Khajuria the police recovered 29 Kg Charas. According to police the huge quantity of narcotics was found concealed in a specially created cavity in the dickey under the seat cover of vehicle. The consignment was seized along with the vehicle. On questioning, the alleged driver disclosed his identity as Firdous Ahmed, son of Mohd Sultan, resident of Sopore, and others involved persons disclosed their identity Ali Mohd Khan, son of Ibrahim Khan, resident of Village Dever Inderbug Kakad, Tehsil Sougam, district Kupwara, his wife Sahiba Noori and his son Rafiq Ahmed. The police has arrested and booked the accused in a case FIR 14/2020 under section 8/20/25/29 under NDPS Act at Police Station Jhajjarkotli and investigation has been started. The seizure and arrest was made under the close supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma, SP Rural Suram Singh and SSP Jammu Tejinder Singh.
