JAMMU: Jammu Zone boys made a winning start in kabaddi and volleyball on the opening day of the inter-zonal competitions of Jammu District being held under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Government Higher Secondary School, Domana, here on Monday.
However, in kho-kho, Jammu boys lost in the very first round to Bhalwal Zone in a one-sided contest. Competition in wrestling was also in progress at the same venue.
Earlier, the competitions were declared open by District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSS), Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma amidst interaction with the participating teams.

KABADDI: Jammu Zone beat Marh Zone 35-27; Akhnoor Zone Zone defeated RS Pura 47-13; Bhalwal Zone trounced Bishnah Zone 38-07; Satwari Zone outplayed Khour Zone 37-21.
KHO-KHO: Akhnoor Zone beat Marh Zone 11-03; Bhalwal Zone trounced Jammu zone 11-04; RS Pura Zone defeated Satwari Zone 13-10.
VOLLEYBALL: Khour Zone outplayed RS Pura 25-21, 25-12; Marh Zone defeated Satwari Zone 25-21, 25-13; Jammu Zone beat Bhalwal Zone 25-09, 26-24; Bishnah downed Akhnoor 25-16 25-20.
