JAMMU: First Virasat-e-Khalsa Gatka Mukabla was held at Gurdwara Yadghar Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar here under the sponsorship of District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Jammu.
On the occasion, Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu was the Chief Guest and Sardar Tarlochan Singh Wazir, President, State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board (J and K) was the Guest of Honour.
While addressing the gathering, General Secretary DGPC Jammu, Avtar Singh Khalsa informed that Nine Gatka Akhara (Party) participated in the competition from Jammu, Kathua, Samba Districts and R.S Pura.
While addressing the participants, Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu encouraged the youth to participate in sports events and stay away from the drugs.
On the occasion Ranjit Singh and Amarjit Singh were the jury members and Rupinder Singh, Lovepreet Singh, Yashpreet Singh, Parvinder Singh, Gurvinder Singh and Ramanjot Singh were the referees. The declaration of competition’s result and prize distribution by Secretary, SGPC Amritsar, Dr Roop Singh, will be held on 13th April 2017 on the occasion of Baisakhi at Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar, Jammu. During the programme, T.S Wazir felicitated the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and President, District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu, Jagjeet Singh honoured the Guest of Honour. The proceedings of the stage were conducted by the Avtar Singh Khalsa, General Secretary, DGPC Jammu. President, District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu, presented the vote of thanks.
