MENDHAR: Several villages in Mendhar sub division are facing acute shortage of water from the last one month due to leakage in PHE pipelines. Residents of Balakote, Chatral sagra Sangoite Mohra Kallar Harni, Mankote and Upper Gursai in Mendhar Sub Division said that due to the leakage of PHE pipes and motors and pumping stations lying defunct, the water supply to the villages is affected and people are facing hardships due to this. Residents of village Sangiot, Balakote, Lanjiot, Sandote, Deri Dabsi, Bhati Dhar, MohraKallar Kalaban are facing acute shortage of water. People alleged that they are not getting a regular supply of water due to which they are facing difficulties.
They alleged that the matter is brought to the notice of the concerned officias but nothing was done in this connection. They appealed DDC Poonch and Chief Engineer PHE Jammu to look into the matter.
