NOWSHERA: The residents of village Dhallian and people of many Panchayats across Munawar Tawi held a protest against the Coalition Government for the loss of not only one Bachan Singh son of Bhagat Singh but five precious lives who have been washed away so far in the Munawar Tawi. The protesters kept the body of Bachan Singh on Jammu Poonch National Highway and blocked the road. The protesters including former Sarpanch Gurmeet Singh, Sarpanch Ishwar Singh , Sarpanch Charan Singh, Sarpanch Jaswant Singh, Chairman Lakhbir Singh, ex Sarpanch Mehmood Hussain, Gurnam Singh, Dara Singh, Manohar Singh, Gulzar Ahmed and Mukhar Ahmed said that thousands of people from number of villages cross this Tawi are risking their lives but the MLA of the Constituency Ravinder Raina failed to redress their grievances in spite of repeated requests.
Meanwhile the SDM Nowshera Abdul Sattar, Tehsildar Mohd Riaz, ASP Atul Sharma and SHO Kuldeep reached the spot and pacified the protesters. The SDM contacted the DDC Rajouri Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary who advised to submit the estimates for a bailey bridge. On the assurance of DDC, the people lifted Dharna and the traffic was resumed after three hours.
