STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Vigilance Organisation Jammu (VOJ) on Monday produced Challan against then Tehsildar Kishtwar in a trap case. Vigilance Organisation Jammu produced Challan against Irshad Ahmed Butt, the then Tehsildar Kishtwar, son of Ghulam Nabi, resident of Dool, Kishtwar at present staying at H No 76, Ward No 11, Kishtwar before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Doda in case FIR No 40/17 Police Station VOJ 5 (1) (d) read with section 5 (2) J&K PC Act Svt 2006 and Sec 4-A PC Act (Amendment 2014) Police Station VOJ. According to report, one Farooq Ahmed Kripak, son of Abdul Rashid Kripak, resident of Village Keshwan Tehsil, district Kishwar on October 6, 2017 lodged a complaint at Police Station VOJ through fax from DySP UDKR VOJ Camp Doda that he had approached Patwari Halqa Keshwan for processing the RBA Certificates in respect of his wards for which the Patwari demanded Rs 5,000 from him, but being a poor he denied to pay him such a huge amount and on this the concerned Patwari Halqa reflected the income of complainant as Rs 40,000 per month which was very much higher than his actual income. In this regard, the complainant approached Tehsildar Kishtwar namely Irshad Ahmed Butt who verified the income of the complainant and found income of the complainant less than reflected by the Patwari. Further, the complainant alleged in the complaint that the Tehsildar Kishtwar Irshad Ahmed Butt demanded Rs 7,000 from him for preparing his less income certificate. The complainant in his complaint requested for taking legal action against the corrupt officials seeking justice for him. Accordingly, a case was registered in Police Station Vigilance Organisation Jammu. During the investigation, a successful trap was laid against the accused Tehsildar, Irshad Ahmed Butt and he was apprehended red handed by the Vigilance Officials while accepting the illegal gratification of Rs 7,000 from the complainant Farooq Ahmed Kripak. After completion of the investigation, the case was processed for obtaining necessary government sanction as envisaged under Section 6 of J&K PC Act Svt 2006, in respect of accused Tehsildar. After obtaining the sanction from the competent authority, the Challan of the case was produced against the accused Tehsildar in the competent Trial Court for judicial determination. Next date of hearing in the case has been fixed for September 24, 2018.
