STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Various social organisations on Thursday staged protest against recent rape cases including Sumbal rape-case. The activists of Joint Front of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations, Jammu Muslim Front, Sikh Noujawan Sabha, Gujjar Federation, Mazdoor Dastkar Union and NSOSYF assembled near Press Club Jammu and raised slogans against Bandipora and Ganderbal rape incidents. The protesters demanded justice for victims and stern punishment to culprits behind the acts. R K Kalsotra, State President Confederation said that justice should be delivered at the earliest to victims, adding, “We hope this time justice will be delivered to victims immediately. We will not tolerate such heinous crimes in the society.” Shuja Zaffar Chairman, Jammu Muslim Front; Manmohan Singh, Chairman Sikh Nojawan Sabha and Ashwani Bhagat, State Coordinator NSOSYF sought exemplary punishment to the culprits on fast track basis. “We hope that Governor’s administration will probe the incident on fast-trial basis to ensure immediate justice to victims,” they said. Others present in the protest included Shouket Gujjar, Shashi Syal, Vinod Jaral, Kazi Imran, Mohsin, Kuldeep, Rashid Ali and Tarun Proach.
