Nowshera: Nowshera Congress accused State Govt. of raw deal and ignoring several deserving areas during recent up gradation of Schools to 10+2 levels.
In a joint Statement several senior leaders and Block Presidents of Congress alleged that as against four 10+2 schools announced by previous Congress-NC government for Nowshera Sub-Division, only one School at Laroka, has been sanctioned, depriving several far-flung and other deserving areas.
Cong-NC Government had announced 10+2 schools for Laroka, Rajpur, Dabbar Poltha & Bhajnoa but this order was withheld by the present government. After around four years instead of considering and including more areas, this government gave only one higher Secondary School at Laroka. They said the distance between peer Badesar to Nowshera is about 50Kms, so the Government must consider the areas of Qila Darhal -Rajpur Kamila-Bhata being dominated by such Sikh Minority and ST population, H/S Langer besides Dabbar Potha and Bhajnoa being SC population. There is large scale resentment against failure and neglect of the government.
The signatories include S. Isher Singh (Ex-Member DGPC) Chairman District Minority Congress, Som Raj Heer, President BCC Nowshera, S. Rajinder Singh (Sarpanch) President Block Congress Qila Darhal, Raj Kumar President BCC Seri, Mukand Lal (Sarpamch), Baisakhi Ram PCC Delegate, Ch. Khalil (Sarpanch), Sansar Chand, Badri Nath, Harbax Singh, Capt. Ravinder Singh and Tara Singh.
Meanwhile a large number of residents including women of Tehsil Qila Darhal staged a Dharna and blocked Nowshera – Lam road and exhibited a strong protest against sheer discrimination with the people of the area.
Ex-Sarpanch of Qila Darhal Paramjit Singh said that the School of this Tehsil Qila Darhal which is High School for the last four decades which qualifies all the merits for upgradation to Higher Secondary School, has been ignored and the schools which have lesser period of their existence with lesser number of students and lesser areas to cover, have been upgraded to Higher Secondary Schools. While this being a Tehsil Headquarter of a border area which deserved more consideration, has been left out for taking its cognizance.
Sarpanch Paramjit Singh has requested the District Development Commissioner Shahid Iqbal Choudhary who is practically aware of the necessity of Higher Secondary School at Tehsil Qila Darhal, may please take up the issue with the concerned quarters for its upgradation.
