JAMMU: United Cricket Club defeated Doda Warriors by 76 runs in the Doda District Cricket Tournament for JKCA Premier Championship, organised by Ramban District Tournament Committee at Government Degree College Ground, Bhadarwah on Wednesday.
As per the reports reaching here, United Club won the toss and decided to bat first; they set a target of 188 runs for eight wickets in allotted 25 overs. Sufian with (37), Salman (29), Fazil (21) and Hanan Mir (21) runs were the main scorers. For Doda Warriors, Pankaj, Tewar and Aqib shared two wickets each.
Batting second, Doda Warriors was bowled out for 111 runs in 20 overs. Vinay with (20), Swarn (14) and Dinesh (13) runs were main contributors to the total. Danish and Salman were most successful bowlers, who took three and two wickets respectively.
KISHTWAR: Meanwhile, in the Kishtwar District Cricket Tournament, FCC trounced Vikking by 56 runs to advance into the next round of the competition at Chowghan Ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, FCC played well making 198 runs for eight wickets in given 20 overs.
Rafi played fine innings of unbeaten 70 runs off 37 balls while Mosiver and Owais contributed 26 and 25 runs respectively. Majid added 21. For Vikking, Azhar claimed three wickets and Naffez bagged two.
In reply, Vikkings could only make 142 runs in 19 overs to lose the tie. Azhar remained top scorer with 41 runs while Mustkeem and Momin added 23 and 17 runs respectively.
It was Owais, who turned the tables taking away six wickets for 23 in three overs, was the obvious choice for the Man of the Match title.
