POONCH: People Forum Poonch on Thursday criticised the decision of the Central Government for announcing unilateral ceasefire during the holy month of Ramzan.
While issuing a press note, President of People Forum Poonch Advocate Sanjay Raina said that Central Government has fallen into the trap of CM Mehbooba Mufti who proposed this idea to appease a particular political constituency. By withholding security operations for this month the Govt. is going to provide a reprieve to otherwise dying militancy. This act of Govt will provide an opportunity to terrorist organizations to recast a new strategy, unite, regroup and rejevnate their rank and file. This breathing space will cost heavily to our security apparatus. The gains made by the valiant security forces during operation all out would be brought back to square.
This decision of the central government is highly regretful and condemn able. The decision clearly indicates non seriousness of the ruling dispensation at both state and central level for not curbing militancy with iron hand once for all. This unilateral ceasefire will prove disastrous for both State and central Governments. Raina further said Central Govt. failed to appreciate the critical situation on the ground in vale of Kashmir, slight laxity means huge cost in terms of security men and loss of property. The forum strongly demands withdrawal of orders unilateral ceasefire as National security is paramount and cannot be compromised at all.
Dr. S.C.Raina, Vinay Mohan Misri, Sachin Kar, Harcharan Singh Chamak, Advocate Chaman Lal, Advocate Bhanu Partap were also present.
