STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: Aditya Sharma’s 56 runs knock helped Udhampur Zone to win District level Inter-Zonal Cricket Tournament for under-17 years boys played at Subash Stadium, here on Wednesday. The tournament was organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the patronage of Director General, Youth Services and Sports J&K, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman and the overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Udhampur, Kharati Lal Sharma. About 102 boys drawn from different seven zones of district Udhampur participated in the tournament. In the final match, Udhampur Zone defeated Jib Zone by 11 runs. For his match winning inning, Aditya Sharma was declared Man of the Match. For Jib Zone, Anees was the top scorer with 55 runs. Earlier, in second quarter final match played today, Chenani Zone defeated Tikri Zone by 95 runs while Zone Udhampur beat Zone Chenani by six wickets in second semifinal match. All the matches were conducted by Ashwani Kotwal, Ajit Singh, Raj Kumar Dogra, Vinod Khajuria, Sunil Kumar, Raj Kumar, Rishi Kumar, Sourab, Jatin Sethi, Chander Kiran, Rakesh Kumar and Romesh Chander. Others present were ZPEO Udhampur Santosh Kumari, ZPEO Pancheri Pawan Sharma, Jaswinder Singh, Sanjay Gupta, Deepika Manhas, Pritam Singh, Vishal Gupta, Raman Kumar and Anupama Sharma.
