UDHAMPUR: Udhampur Campus, University of Jammu on Monday organised a rock painting competition in the campus premises. The theme of the competition was ‘Safe Natural and Social Environment’. It was a group activity where six teams comprising of students of M.A Economics and M.Com participated. The students highlighted various social issues and gave awareness about women empowerment, save the girl child, global warming, water conservation, clean and green environment and swachh Bharat through their paintings.
The students of Udhampur Campus, University of Jammu showcased their painting skills in the rock painting competition in collaboration with IYSF NGO.
Raghubir Gandotra, Chairman Indian Socialist Youth Front, an NGO, Sukhdev Singh, general manager, Sri Ram Cement Industry, Ravinder Thakur, Vice Chairman, ISYF and one of the biggest local entrepreneurs, Ravi Basanti, convener ISYF and Sanjeev Sharma, President ISYF were the chief guests for the competition.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. Hardeep Chahal, Rector, Udhampur Campus, University of Jammu complimented all the students for their relentless efforts.
The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony and felicitation of the dignitaries present on the occasion who helped in the levelling of our campus ground and making this rock painting competition possible.
The first prize was given to a group who painted on the theme ‘Clean India, Green India , our dream India’ which was painted by students of M.A Economics III semester. The second position was given to the group comprising of students of M.A Economics of I semester who painted on the topic ‘Global Warming and Map of India showing various initiatives taken in India’. The third position was given to the students of M.Com III semester who painted on the theme ‘Save Girl Child’.
Faculty members of Udhampur Campus including Dr. Neetu Kumari, Vinod Kumar Sharma, Taruna Dubey, Mamta Sharma, Jhanvi Khanna, Sumeet Kour, Dr. Kamini dutta, Deepti abrol, Bhader Singh, Ritika Sambyal and Rachna were also present on the occasion.
