Dear Editor, Through the columns of your esteemed paper, we like to high light the callousness of the District Administration Udhampur towards the burning problems, the people are facing at present. Almost every day political organizations, social activists, patients as well as attendants are in the local media projecting the shortages of medicines, vaccines, delayed treatment and deteriorating condition of the District Hospital, much considered as ‘Referral Hospital’ only but the District Administration supposed to intervene to ease out the sufferings of the common man takes these media projections as “ek kan se sunna dusre se nikal dena”. This speaks of either inefficiency or arrogance on the part of the District Administration. We are not here to praise the District Administration but to apprize that they are the Government servants and have to work towards people’s expectation and someone has rightly said ‘perform or perish’. We were expecting citizens meeting on various problems faced by the citizenry by Deputy Commissioner Udhampur but Alas! Nothing such was deemed necessary by the officer. The office has become dustbin of correspondence taken by citizenry with DC and no response comes from the office. Through the columns of your esteemed paper, we request District Administration to convene the meeting of ‘Rogi Kalyan Samiti’ to work out a viable solution of the problems pertaining to District Hospital Udhampur. Mahadeep Singh Jamwal Udhampur.
