RAJOURI: Police on Wednesday arrested two Valley based narcotic peddlers and recovered Charas from their possession.
As per the details, a police party headed by ASI Altaf Hussain under the supervision of SHO Thanamandi Nazir Ahmad Dar laid a random Naka at upper bridge Thanamandi and started frisking of vehicles.
During Naka checking, two persons namely Javid Ahmed Waghey son of Abdul Ghani resident of Zawen Shopian and Manzoor Ahmed Wani son of Abdul Hamid Wani resident of Ramnaghri Shopian, who were coming on foot from Azmatabad towards Thanamandi and on seeing police party, changed their route.
Cops suspected something suspicious in their movement, chased them for some distance and managed to apprehend both the persons.
During frisking, three rolls (Challis) of Charas were recovered from the possession of Muzaffer Ahmed and four rolls (Challis) of Charas from the possession of Javaid Ahmed.
Both the accused persons were arrested and a case vide FIR No, 98/2018 U/S 8/20/29 NDPS ACT was registered against them and investigation taken up. SDPO Thanamandi Iftikar A Chowdhary is personally investigating the case to unearth links of both the peddlers.
