State Times News KATHUA: Police in a major breakthrough solved theft incidents by arresting two notorious thieves and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 2.5 lakh on their disclosure. As per the details, a team of police station Billawar led by Inspector Vijay under the direct supervision of DySP Ravinder Singh SDPO Billawar, arrested two thieves namely Shakoor Ahmed, son of Mohd Ayub, resident of Malhar Morha Nelhew and Tara Chand, son of Indru Ram, resident of Malti Billawar involved in theft incidents committed by them under the jurisdiction of Police Station Billawar. Police recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 2.5 lakh on their disclosure. Both the thieves admitted their prime involvement in two theft incidents in Dewal and Malti village in Billawar for which two FIR No 31 and 35/2019 under sections 454/380 RPC was registered in Police Station Billawar. Sustained questioning and investigation revealed that these two thieves were also involved in two major theft incidents under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kathua for which FIR no’s 159/2017,263/2017 both under sections 454/380 RPC were registered in Police Station Kathua. Police is also investigating for their involvement in theft incidents not only in Kathua District but other parts of the state and across the inter-state border as well and also expecting more arrest in the follow up action.
