DODA: Police on Friday arrested two bootleggers and recovered 40 pouches of illicit liquor at Khelleni area of district Doda.
Both the accused have been identified as Murli Mohan son of Romesh Kumar resident of Durga Nagar Khellani and Rohit Katoch son of Balak Chand resident of Khellanai.
“On an information about two bikers roaming in Khelleni market with county made liquor, a Naka led by SHO Doda Manjeet Singh and Incharge Police Post Khelleni Ravinder Kumar was laid to nab the bootleggers,” said DySP Hqrs Doda Iftkhar Ahmed.
“During search of the accused, who were on way from Pul Doda to their native village Khelleni,40 nips of illicit liquor was recovered from their possession,” DySP added.
Police has registered a case vide FIR No 05/2018 under section 48-A Excise Act at Police Station Doda and further investigation is going on.
Meanwhile, on a specific information, Incharge Police Post Kahara SI Amrit Katoch and SHO Gandoh Inspector Anayat Hussain under the supervision of SDPO Gandoh Sunny Gupta destroyed 15 litters of Lahan and also recovered 2 litter Desi liquor from the house of Omkar Singh son of Roshan Lal resident of Bhatoli Gandoh.
In this connection a case vide FIR No 06/2018 under section 48-E, excise act has been registered at Police Station Gandoh.
