STATE TIMES NEWS BANIHALPOONCH: Police on Tuesday arrested two drug peddlers and recovered narcotics from their possession. As per the details, on specific information, laid a Naka at T Chowk Banihal and during checking one pedestrian coming from Railway Station Banihal towards Banihal town was put to thorough checking. During search of the pedestrian, some quantity of herion like substance was recovered which later measured to be 500 grams in quantity. The pedestrian identified as Amin Mohd, son of Rashid Ahmed, resident of Krimchi Tehsil and Distt. Udhampur was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 86/2019 under section 8/21/NDPS Act was registered against him at Police Station Banihal. The Naka party was headed by DySP (Ops) Banihal, Arvind Badgal assisted by Insp Abid Hussain Bukhari SHO Police Station Banihal under the supervision of Sajjad Sarwar SDPO Banihal, Sanjay Parihar Addl SP Ramban and overall supervision of Anita Sharma SSP Ramban. Meanwhile, On the directions of SSP Poonch Romesh Angral and under supervision of SDPO Mendhar Neeraj Padyar, a party of Police Station Mendhar along with SHO Mendhar Sajjad Mir apprehended a person during Naka checking at Sanagala Chowk and recovered 500gms approx of Charas (44 challis) from his vehicle (JK21 A-4907). The accused Raza Ahmad, son of Abdul Hamid, resident of Malikpur Gohlad was arrested and a case vide FIR No 99/2019 under section 8/15/21 NDPS Act was registered against him.
