STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Two-day J&K Youth Parliamentary Convention will be organized in Government Polytechnic, Jammu, from January 19. This was stated by a law student while addressing a press conference here on Monday. “Parliamentary Convention will give tremendous blow to the youth of the country as now this platform will work as an opportunity to the youth who want to raise their voices regarding national issues. The event needs to be unscripted for the simple reason that if we organise a scripted event than it will be more of the scripted mind of youth which we cannot afford,” she said. “Youth is the voice of the nation and it needs to be untamed, rebellious and a voice which puts forward every view point infront of the people. During the convention, various issues related to the national political agenda including women security, one nation, one poll; Article 370, government formation in 2019 shall be taken up,” she said. “Youth are the future of our country it is from them that a generation of future politicians, nation builders will be born so to listen to their voices is the need of the hour and it should be heard. So, these competitions will provide children from all age groups without any barriers to speak their mind. Also, to keep a check that nothing goes against the national spirit we have competent EBs who will moderate the committee in the best possible way as they have experience of moderating these events. They expertise in handling all kinds of sensitive issues and maintaining decorum while the convention is going on,” she added. She appealed to the youth of the State to be part of this national level convention, she said.
