JAMMU: Harjas Ad World and Khalsa Aid, The Basics of Sikhi Organisation- UK (Everything-13) in association with Wave Mall Jammu, organised a Turban-Up event in the premises of Wave Mall.
At the event, colourful turbans were tied and distributed among the visitors along with the message ‘Celebrating Equality; The Turban Way’.
The Sikh Turban has a long history of bravery, valour and sacrifice and it’s also a symbol of equality and sovereignty.
The event aimed at making people aware of the importance of turban in Sikh faith and also about the worldwide discrimination against the Sikh turban, especially in the France where Sikh turban is banned.
During the event, the Sikh volunteers tied colourful turbans and the visitors clicked pictures holding the placards of royalty, justice, courage, dignity and purity. There was also a testimonial section where people expressed their feelings after wearing the turban. The testimonial section had a creative backdrop depicting names of Sikh personalities and their contribution towards society.
