BANIHAL: Police on Saturday arrested a trucker and recovered 40 kg of poppy straw from the vehicle. According to a report, a special Naka was established at Grid Station Tethar National Highway Banihal on the direction of SDPO Banihal D.S Katoch to check the vehicles coming from Kashmir side. During Naka, one Truck (PB07/6551) which was on way from Kashmir side towards Jammu, was signalled by Naka party led by SHO Banihal Insp. Mohd Afzal and upon checking of it, about 40 KG of poppy straw was found concealed in three bags in the cabin of the same. The driver of the truck namely Kalvinder Singh son of Jagdesh Singh resident of Jeeganwal Tehsil Bhupor District Jalinder Punjab was arrested and a case vide FIR No 29/2017 under section 8/15/NDPS Act was registered against him at Police Station Banihal.
