STATE TIMES NEWs SAMBA: Tributes were paid to Martyr Brigadier Rajinder Singh on his 120th Birth anniversary in his native village Bagoona area of Vijaypur in District Samba. On this occasion, former Minister of Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga was Chief Guest on this occasion while a large number of people and family members of the martyr were also present. Ganga paid homage to the martyr Brig Rajinder Singh, said that the removal of Article 370 and 35 A from the state will be a tribute to legend in a true sense because the martyr brigadier Rajendra Singh had done his duty towards the state and the nation with full truth. Ganga said that Rajendra Singh has become an inspiration for the people in Jammu and there are about one or two members in every house who serve in the Armed Forces, many defend the border and the Kashmir Valley. He also said that Brig Rajinder Singh was the first recipient of Maha Vir Chakra in Independent India, which was distinguished as a permanent example of dutifulness, nobility and supreme sacrifice after a set battle against very heavy obstacles. Rajinder Singh had saved Kashmir from being attacked by Pakistani attackers in 1947 and gave up his life fighting the enemy. On this occasion, a former army man said.
