JAMMU: The tourism trade bodies welcomed the statement of Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Choudhary, who said that the Artificial Lake project on Tawi River would be completed within time period of four months.
In a joint statement issued by Chairman Jammu Parayat Vikas Mandal Indrjeet Khajuria, President All Jammu Hotel and Lodges Association Pawan Gupta, President Hotel & Restaurant Association Bazaar Khatikan Ashiq Hussian, President Hotel, Bar & Restaurant Association Kuldeep Wahi, Chairman Jammu Development Council Kamal Gupta, President Raghunath Bazaar Shopkeepers Association, Surinder Mahajan and President Taxi Operators Association, Anchal Singh said that the minister has himself admitted the truth that the project is very much technically viable and beyond any questioning, it will be unwise to question on its technicalities or abandon it.
“According to the minister’s statement the 90 per cent work on the project has been completed and remaining part shall be completed within three to four months,” they said.
The tourism trade bodies appealed to all Jammu political parties to watch protect and safeguard the interests of Jammu above the political affiliations.
