JAMMU: The ongoing indefinite chain hunger strike of Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (TJAC) on Monday entered 12th consecutive day here.
Led by State President JKRTTF Vinod Sharma, State Chief Coordinator JKRTTF Sukhdev Singh Sumbria and Provincial President JKRTTF Rajesh Jamwal, the activists assembled near Press Club Jammu and raised slogans in support of their demands.
The teachers who sat on chain hunger strike include Mahesh Kumar, Pankaj Verma, Brinder Singh, Balbir Chand, Gulshan Sharma, Parshotam Singh, Pawan Sharma, Santosh Kumar, Surinder Singh, Pardeep Choudhary and Vinod Verma.
Vinod Sharma accused the government over its non seriousness towards SSA teachers and masters whose families are living in mental trauma. He said that due to the casual approach of the government these teachers are unable to provide proper facilities to their families. He appealed to the Governor administration to intervene in this regard and issue order regarding implementation of Seventh Pay Commission in their favour without any further delay.
Rajesh said that TJAC will continue the indefinite chain hunger strike till the government issues order of implementation of Seventh Pay Commission and it’s up to the government how much time it forces the teachers to come on roads.
