JAMMU: Tax Bar Association of Jammu on Wednesday honoured the newly elected MLC, Ch. Vikram Randhawa at a function held here.
The function was organised under the chairmanship of President of the Jammu Bar Association, B.S Slathia, wherein the members congratulated Randhawa on being elected to the Upper House of the State Legislative Assembly.
Speaking on the occasion, Slathia said that the lawyers’ fraternity is serving the people of the State with dedication so that they may get justice and deserve privileges from the government. He raised various issues and urged upon Randhawa to take up the same with the government for early redressal.
Slathia, while raising the issues, said that Bar Room sans furniture and library which are the basic need and urged upon the MLC to take up the matter with the government for early redressal.
Speaking on the occasion, Vikram Randhawa thanked the all the members of the lawyer fraternity for honouring him and also assured that all the demands will be taken up with the concerned quarters for early redressal. He also urged upon the lawyers fraternity to remain available for the service of those who cannot afford huge amount to hire an advocate. He said that many people do not get legal support for lack of money and furthermore does not get justice.
Randhawa urged upon the lawyers’ to help those in distress and immediate need no matter if they can pay or not. Doing this we can provide justice to all the sections of the society, he maintained.
