DODA: Surat Cricket Club Gujarat registered resounding victory against Everest Cricket Club Bhalessa by four wickets and advanced into the next stage of the ongoing All India 13th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2017, being organised by Young Star Cricket Club Doda at Sports Stadium, here on Monday.
Batting first, Everest Cricket Club Bhalessa made 158 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Rayees played a fine inning of 68 runs while Ishtiaq Rasool contributed 33 runs. For Everest Club Bhalessa, Mubarak Patel scalped two wickets while Hussain Patel, Luqman Patel and Tosif Thukar shared one each.
In reply, after getting good start from the opening batsmen, Surat Cricket Club Gujarat managed to chase the given target in 19.2 overs for the loss of six wickets.
Mubarak Patel was the highest scorer from Gujarat team who made 50 runs while Rahul Sarwade scored 37 runs. For Everest Cricket Club Bhalessa, Amir Wani took three wickets while Irshad Wani and Ishtiaq Rasool shared apiece each.
Mubarak Patel of Surat Cricket Club Gujarat was adjudged as Man of the Match for his best all round performance and was given prize by Chief Guest Tehsildar Doda Nasir Ali Natnoo along the SHO Police Station Doda Bishnesh Kumar.
Natnoo lauded the efforts of Young Star Cricket Club Doda for holding such events in this region which would boost up the morale of youth adding that sports activities are important for the overall physical and mental development of the youth.
The match was officiated by Munish Zutshi and Ifroz Rather as Umpires while Milind Gore maintained the scorecard.
