KATHUA: The body of Subedar Madan Lal Choudhary, who was martyred in Sunjwan terror attack, was cremated with full military honours at his native Village Bakrak, Tehsil Meehan sector Chadwal, Kathua District.
The mortal remains of Subedar Madan Lal was brought to Village Bakrak where MLA Nowshera Ravinder Raina, former ministers Sham Lal Sharma and Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, DC Kathua, SDM Hiranagar, Additional SP Kathua, Sanjay Parihar, Army Commander Brigade 401 Basohli Anil Jain, CO 64 Reg Gurinder, MLA Hiranagar Kuldeep Raj, MLC Vikram Randhawa, Vice Chairman OBC Rachpal Verma, Ex MLC Subash Gupta, former MLA Girdhari Lal paid tributes to the martyred soldier.
Wreaths were laid by senior army officers on Subedar Madan Lal’s body and his son Ankush Choudhary performed last rites. Ankush Choudhary is also a trainee officer.
A contingent of Army jawans reversed their fire arms and fired in the air as a mark of respect amid last bugle.
Fifty-year-old Subedar Madan Lal faced a group of heavily armed desperate terrorists with bare hands, took scores of bullets on his chest and arms, yet ensured that the assailants could not inflict much harm on his family. He eventually fell to the AK 47 bullets fired by the terrorists, who attacked his quarter at Sunjuwan Army station in Jammu, but still foiled their plan to cause maximum damage.
