Taking notice of the Supreme Court’s warning to the states and Union Territories about mob violence, only 11 out of 29 states had filed the compliance report. It shows that state governments are not concerned about the mob violence. Mob-lynching cases repeatedly are taking place all over the country, innocent people being massacred, women being raped, minor girls being killed and properties being destroyed illegally, but government’s reaction reflects its apathy and negligence towards these terrible issues. When the government itself is not serious then whom people will trust? State’s governments must assure people their safety and protection taking any action strictly against all the culprits involved in such crimes.
